Tampa Macdill AFB Housing and Relocation Information
If you are relocating to Tampa and will be stationed at Mac Dill AFB here’s a great resource that will help you find the BEST Neighborhoods in surrounding communities.
Popular Neighborhoods include:
South Tampa, which is generally defined as S. of Kennedy Blvd, to the Base. This area is closest in proximity to MacDill, however, pricing is higher due to its close proximity to the base and our Downtown Tampa and Channelside areas. If you are looking for something smaller, in quaint neighborhoods, this will be your best option if you are willing to sacrifice size for price.

Popular suburbs for families who want a large home on a budget include:
Benefits of buying New Construction:
New construction homes have many benefits to Military buyers who want to close quickly.
The Ability to Close Quick
About 20% of our re-sale market are short sales which can take 4 months to a year to close. Honestly, buying new is a better deal if you are relocating to the area and don’t want to waste money renting. I posted an article on the benefits of buying versus renting, which you can read here 6 Reasons to Buy vs Renting You May Have Missed
Builders offer great incentives and selection:
New Construction Builders also offer VA financing and offering to pay buyer’s closings costs, which is very appealing for those of you who don’t have the cash to bring to closing.
New construction homes generally are not found doing a search through MLS, so if you would like availability on inventory homes we can send you a list.
I’ve also posted articles on resources for relocating to Tampa which can be found here.
