Child Care Programs

Children, Youth and Teen Programs: They have a one stop resource for all your children and youth needs.  Email the administrator on the website and they can help you out with any assistance you require. This website also has access to all of the forms you will need to fill out for your childcare needs.

Pre-K and After School Programs:

Child Development Center: Offers hourly, part time or full time child care for children 6 weeks thru 5 years.  5:30am-6:00pm.

Family Childcare: Family childcare is available for children in certified caregiver homes.

Cherry Tree House (Base Boys and Girls Club):  Available for children 5-12 years of age. Children must be enrolled in Kindergarten and attending Kindergarten+ which goes Monday-Friday 6:00am-8:30am, and after school Monday-Friday 3:00pm-6:00pm.  They offer a variety of activities for school age children including dance lesson, sports events, summer camps and other events. They also have games including billiards, ping pong, air hockey, foosball, and bowling tables, checkers/chess game tables, board games, video games, CD players and a lounge with a “Big Screen” TV with VCR/DVD player

Exceptional Family Member Program: Information and referrals at 252-466-4401. The Respite Care program allows up to 40 hours a month for children with special needs.

Youth Sports

On Base Youth Sports: The base offers a youth sports program, but they can’t really compete with the out in town programs.

PARENT involved clinics: Golf 6-18 years and Start Smart Basketball, Baseball and Soccer ages 3-5 years.

INSTRUCTIONAL: Basketball 5-6 years, Cheer 7-16 years, Golf 8-15 years, Tae Kwon Do ages 4-8 and 9-17, T-Ball 5-7 years, Tennis 8-15 years.

LEAGUES: Basketball for 7-18 years, Indoor Soccer 7-17 years, Golf 10-18 years.

COMPETITIONS: Basketball 9-16 years, Football 8-15 years, Soccer 8-13 years.

Havelock Parks and Recreation: Offers several programs. If the website link doesn’t contain the information you’re looking for, make sure you check out the park and recreation page for registration and more information.

Football and Cheerleading: Havelock has a great program through Pop Warner. In the fall they offer flag, tackle and cheer for ages 4-16. Early registration is January-March and regular registration is April-August. Season plays August-November.

Soccer: Havelock soccer program offering recreational and challenge teams. Spring and fall, ages U6-U14. Registration is in January-March and plays April-June. Registration for fall is in July and plays September-October.

T-Ball: Havelock registration in January and plays March-May. Fall season registration is July and plays September-October. Ages 4-8.

Little League: Havelock program in the spring and fall. Ages 7-12. Registration for spring is January-March and plays April-June. Registration for fall league is in July and plays in September-October.

Babe Ruth Little League: Havelock program for ages 13-15 and 16-18. Registration is March-April and plays June-August.

Lacrosse: Havelock program offered in the spring for ages 8-14. Registration is January-February and plays in February-May.

Softball: Girls 5-18. Registration for spring is in February and plays March-June. Registration for fall is in August and plays September-October.

Basketball: Youth registration is September-November and plays November-March.

Karate: Karate Family Center provides lessons, after school care and summer camps.
